How it Works

Text Detector

The Is It AI text detector uses state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms to analyze text and classify it as either AI-generated or human-generated. The tool is based on a machine learning model that was trained on a large dataset of text samples to recognize patterns and features that are characteristic of AI-generated text.

How to Use the Text Detector

To use the tool, simply copy and paste the text you want to analyze into the input field on the Text Detector page and click the “Check Text” button. The tool will process the text and classify it as either AI-generated or human-generated, and display the results along with a confidence score.

Limitations

However, there are some limitations to the detector:

  • It is unreliable on short texts (below 200 words), and even longer texts are sometimes incorrectly labeled by the detector.
  • It is also possible for human-written text to be incorrectly but confidently labeled as AI-written, if the text contains certain features that are similar to those found in AI-generated text.
  • The tool performs significantly worse in other languages and is unreliable on code.
  • Text that is very predictable cannot be reliably identified, making it impossible to determine if it was written by AI or humans.

Recommendations

It is recommended to use the tool only for English text. Additionally, the Is It AI text detector should not be used as a primary decision-making tool, but rather as a complement to other methods of determining the source of a piece of text.

Image Detector

The Is It AI image detector uses advanced machine learning algorithms to analyze images and classify them as either AI-generated or human-generated. The tool is based on a machine learning model that was trained on a large dataset of images to recognize patterns and features that are characteristic of AI-generated images.

How to Use the Image Detector

To use the tool, simply upload the image you want to analyze on the Image Detector page and click the Analyze button. The tool will process the image and classify it as either AI-generated or human-generated, and display the results along with a confidence score.

Limitations

However, there are some limitations to the classifier:

  • The tool may not work with images that have been heavily edited or manipulated.
  • It is also possible for human-generated images to be incorrectly but confidently labeled as AI-generated, if the image contains certain features that are similar to those found in AI-generated images.

Recommendations

It is recommended to use the tool with high-quality images that have not been heavily edited or manipulated. Additionally, the Is It AI image detector should not be used as a primary decision-making tool, but rather as a complement to other methods of determining the source of an image.
